Other Complementary Non-Invasive Therapies

Devonshire Dermatology offers a wide range of complementary non-invasive therapies to improve skin quality and to help reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, dull skin, acne and much more.

Ultrasound pore cleansing therapy

Ultrasound pore cleansing uses soundwaves together with pore cleansing lotions to soften sebum and exfoliate dead skin cells without damage to the skin leading to improved cell turnover, microcirculation and cellular metabolism. Ultrasound pore cleansing helps achieve a fresh and healthy complexion, clean pores and physiological lifting.

Microcurrent therapy

Microcurrent of low intensity is comparable to the natural physiological electrical waves that exist in all human organs. It enhances mitochondrial activity, elastin & collagen production and muscle tone leading to increased lymphatic drainage and natural lifting. Microcurrent therapy hydrates and lifts, reduces redness from rosacea and other causes, improves wound healing, reduces oedema after surgical interventions and treats eye puffiness after botox.

Myostimulation therapy

Myostimulation is mediated by pulsed low frequency electrical current which signals to nerve cells to activate muscules. Improved muscle tone leads to physiological facial lifting.

Vacuum therapy

Vacuum pulsation enhances blood circulation and lymphatic drainage in the soft tissues leading to oedema reduction, connective tissue detoxification, fibroblast activation with collagen & elastin production and normalisation of sebaceous glands function.

Vacuum therapy improves naso-labial folds, facial contour and eyebag oedema. If performed regularly, it lifts and improves facial firmness and skin elasticity.

Cold plasma energy therapy

Cold plasma energy, by means of a special handpiece, is showered onto the skin which stimulates regeneration, healing, microcirculation and nutrient delivery. Plasma shower is also anti-bacterial and increases absorption through the epidermis of serums to assist with deep hydration. These actions lead to improvement in a healthy complexion. Plasma shower helps skin to glow and is also good for acne, rosacea and age prevention.

Non-invasive RF therapy

Non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) energy activates fibroblasts to produce new collagen, which leads to improved skin elasticity and natural lifting. Non-invasive RF lifts and improves skin sagging, nasolabial folds and facial contour.

Sonophoresis therapy

Sonophoresis (phonophoresis) is low frequency ultrasound which increases skin permeability to various low and high molecular weight agents, including insulin and heparin. In aesthetic medicine, this percutaneous delivery device is used to assist the passage of active ingredients through the epidermis to the target dermis leading to skin hydration. Sonophoresis is used to deliver active ingredients into the dermis. It hydrates and combats ageing.

Iontophoresis

Iontophoresis uses positive and negative electrodes to enhance the percutaneous delivery of polarized serums and other active ingredients leading to deep pore cleansing and hydration. Iontophoresis is used to deliver polarised serums into the dermis. It helps acne and rosacea and is anti-ageing.

High frequency therapy

High frequency oscillating currents applied to argon electrodes generate ozone. Ozone, by superoxygenating the target tissues, is anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory leading to enhanced microcirculation & lymphatic drainage and reduced sebum production. High frequency is very effective in reducing sebum production and enhancing healing. It is used to mattify oily skin and as a treatment for acne and rosacea.

Oxymeso therapy

Oxymeso is a rhythmic oxygen massage therapy which induces a mesotherapy effect without any injections. Its non-invasive rhythmic beat stimulates blood circulation, oxygen delivery, lymphatic drainage and fibroblast activity leading to enhanced collagen & elastin production resulting in improved skin elasticity. The rhythmic beat also enhances the delivery into the skin of active ingredients. Oxymeso therapy leads to a more hydrated and healthy-looking complexion, physiological lifting and is anti-ageing.

Electroporation therapy

Electroporation uses high voltage electrical currents to create temporary pores in cell membranes, assisting with the intracellular delivery of active ingredients. This method improves healthy cell functions and leads to deep skin hydration. Electroporation is used to deliver active agents inside the cells. It hydrates and prevents ageing.

LED therapy

Light-emitting diode (LED) enhances new collagen production and has anti-inflammatory & antibacterial effects. Biostimulation leads to skin regeneration, enhanced skin recovery, wound healing, scar remodelling and hair regrowth. LED with blue light is ideal for acne and rosacea as a course of treatment. LED red/yellow light improves skin elasticity. LED is used to accelerate recovery after aesthetic interventions.

Coloured light of certain wavelengths is therapeutic to the skin. Light is energy and it influences the dynamics of various cutaneous metabolic pathways. Different colours are absorbed by different parts of the skin and have different therapeutic effects. When the skin absorbs coloured light, a biological response is elicited that is manifest as improved skin quality, for example, improving age-related changes in the skin, normalising the condition of blood vessels, eliminating acne, normalising the functioning of sebaceous glands, clearing rosacea and moisturising the skin. Combining different colours allows several targets to be treated at once. LED therapy is effective and safe. We will be happy to explain and demonstrate it to you in more detail at Devonshire Dermatology.

Myostimulation of the elevator muscles helps sagging faces to be lifted and prevents gravitational descent of the face.
